IN RECOGNITION OF MARCEL LEMIEUX & LOUISE BARRETTE

On December 22nd, Mr. Gérard Melançon, treasurer of the Féderation québécoise de pickleball (FQP) and France Emery, secretary of the FQP and Quebec Director for Pickleball Canada, were very honoured to
present to Mr. Marcel Lemieux, on behalf of Pickleball Canada, a trophy to recognize his contribution to the development of pickleball throughout Quebec and Canada.

Because of COVID the meeting was held outside his residence, but fortunately the weather was nice.  Mr. Kirk Jensen, Vice-President of Sport and Competition Development for Pickleball Canada, was able to attend via Messenger and thus convey to Mr. Lemieux PCO's gratitude for all he has done for the great sport of pickleball.

On January 12, the Fédération québécoise de pickleball (FQP), through its treasurer, M. Gérard Melançon, also wished to pay tribute to Marcel by presenting him with an honorary plaque and announcing that, from now on, the Provincial Championship of the Fédération québécoise de pickleball would be named after him, the Marcel Lemieux Provincial Championship, and that the prizes offered to the male
nd female volunteers of the year would be the Marcel Lemieux Award and the Louise Barrette Award, his
wife and precious collaborator, also wanting to underline the huge contribution of Mrs. Barrette to
he development of pickleball.

Thank you very much Marcel and Louise!!
