Welcome to Pickleball Canada!

2010 - year of the podium for Canada

We garnered the most gold medals for Canada at the Olympics.  How did we do it?
Well, of course, there was natural talent, encouraged by funding groups.

Results  -  Gold

So, how can we achieve the same in our sport which is at the moment, mainly
recreational in Canada.  There is a movement afoot to go to the olympics in
three years.  International efforts are paying off and programs are popping up
in many countries as they have in Canada.
The presence of a national website has facilitated our results.  We could benefit
from more sponsors to help us grow in 2010.
We thank the snowbirds who came and continue to come forward to share
their expertise.  Undoubtedly, they are pleased that our numbers have grown
or held steady during their absence.  This seasonal swelling is now producing
maximum numbers for Canada.  For example, yesterday at South Surrey, we
were on wait time for play, even with eight  courts.  There was lots of time for
sharing stories on the bench.
Finally, I hope that all of you took the opportunity to celebrate our first anniversary.
We look forward to your celebration stories in the next newsletter .  I had the honour
of  celebrating  with 400 students - the future of our sport -at an elementary school
tournament .
Our memberships and renewals are on track for a record year two.
