A Welcome message from Pickleball Canada!

On April 25th, 2009 Pickleball Canada became an official national association. It is our pleasure to introduce this new national group. We have been recruiting leaders for several months and have www.pickleballcanada.org and the more familiar www.okpickleball.ca available for you to interact with us. The logo being displayed on this website is being trademarked. This organization is an outgrowth of the South Surrey Pickleball Association which has been operating successfully for four years. The majority of pickleball players are currently concentrated in B.C. and Ontario. Many of these have learned the game while wintering in the south. One of the association goals is to encourage pickleball enthusiasts to introduce this “Game For All” to their communities upon their return. Initially; Mr. Wayne Roswell from the Greater Toronto area and , Mr. Bill Furse from Collingwood Ontario, Mr. Marcel Lemieux from Mirabel Quebec , and Charles Lefaive, from South Surrey, B.C. will serve on the planning committee until a truly representative body can be elected. With the Pickleball Canada organization now in place, one of its objectives will be to create a forum to discuss moving forward together. These websites will help in this regard. We hope you will use them .Why not ask how you can help ? The Canadian public recreational facilities in which the game is largely played - are different in several ways from the venues used for the sport in the U.S.A. which are largely private clubs. One is more social in nature, the other more competitive . This creates differences between the game here and there that need to be respected and considered. Memberships are being solicited from across Canada to fund, support and participate in this new national organization whose primary mission is to grow this wonderful sport for all ages to enjoy.
