The game has players in a pickle

 This game has people, well, in a pickle.
 
The Monterra Tennis Dome was a busy place Monday as nearly 20 people showed up for the first official round of pickleball.
 
What is pickleball, you ask? Bill Furst was more than happy to explain his new "raquet."
 
 Pickleball, said the enthusiastic Furst, is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, whiffleball and ping pong.
 
 It was invented in the summer of 1965 on an island off the coast of Washington in Puget Sound by a couple of fathers who were tired of hearing the inevitable "I'm bored" mantra from their children.
